Mindset: Eliminate Self Imposed Limitations: You Must Do The Thing You Think You Cannot Do

Nothing binds us more than the chains we bind ourselves with.  Our patterns of speech, our choices, the risks we take or refuse, and the way we view the world all create the limitations we live within.  Our self-imposed limitations keep us safe, but also keep us from changing our lives for the better.

Are you putting something off this week because of fear?  Have you talked yourself out of the next uncertain but so desired step in your life?  Fear will keep you stuck, but can also be the indicator that something great is around the corner if you will find your strength, courage, and confidence.  This week I want to encourage you to explore the uncertain, but greatly desired. 

The thing about strength is that you only know its many dimensions when you live it.  We can see strength in others, but its only seen when it’s used.  Just like a muscle is build with exercise strength of character is built through life experiences.  Life your life fully and your strength will increase.

The thing about courage is that you never know how much you have until you use it.  You never know how good it feels to be courageous until you step out in it.  You never earn the badge of courageous until you adventure into the uncertain.

The thing about confidence is it feels so amazing, but you will never know until you step out with courage and use your strength to transform the uncertain into a successful life experience.

    Jodi,

    Great post! That was me about a year ago! I was comfortable in what I was doing in my business that I failed to realize there is more to improve on. But really I didn’t have the confidence or strength to get out of my comfort zone!

    I still fall back into that zone at times, but I work on it and figure out something else to fix it.

    • That is a great point. The comfort zone is nice, but provides us little growth opportunities until we recognize we are sailing a little too smoothly.

      One of the rules of lean processes (look out here come’s Corporate Jodi) is to make a change then allow it to take affect before making another change or adjustment. This allows us to see the affects of the change. In daily practice it is good to get out of our comfort zones, make a change, then allow it to ride out. After that change has taken affect evaluate the impact and results. If we make a change, allow it to take affect and find we have created a slightly new comfort zone maybe that is an indication that the change was good and beneficial. Finding yourself back in a comfort zone with that change in affect may indicate that you are simply ready for another positive impact on your business.
