Nearly every person has had to deal with acne at some point in their life. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, over 17 million people suffer from acne, and over 50% of all women are affected. If you fall in this category, here is an effective recipe for you:
1 teaspoon activated charcoal powder
½ teaspoon ground flaxseed
1 teaspoon purified water
1 teaspoon aloe vera gel/juice
4 drops tea tree oil
3 drops calendula essential oil
Carefully place the fine black powder into a shallow cup, add the ground flaxseed and water. Mix until forming a paste.
Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
Use frequently all over the areas affected by acne. You can store the mask in a fridge for up to five days.
Brown (or Acne) Spots
Brown spot or post-acne marks can make even smooth skin look blotchy and unhealthy. Here is an easy recipe that helps fade marks, but also doubles as a great deep cleansing treatment:
3 tablespoons raw plain oats
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar (preferably organic)
1 drop tea tree oil
1 drop calendula essential oil
Grind the oats into a powder then add the honey and apple cider vinegar. Blend until smooth.
Add the tea tree and calendula oils and mix well.
You can use this recipe as a scrub or a mask. Apply to a clean face, avoiding the eye area.
Leave the mask on for about 15 minutes and wash off with lots of tepid water.
Use up each freshly made batch at once; this mask doesn’t store well.
We all want healthy, glowing, radiant skin. This is a favorite recipe because the ingredients are rich in iron, potassium, magnesium, vitamins A, C, and E, and oils that reduce eye puffiness, rejuvenate the skin and leave it smooth, soft and nourished.
¼ cup non-instant oatmeal
½ cup mashed avocado
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
Blend ingredients until reaches desired consistency. Apply mixture to skin and let dry for about 15 minutes. Rinse off.
While treating the outer skin naturally will help you reap great results, be sure to also drink plenty of water and eat a healthy, balanced diet. Adequate water will give your skin greater elasticity and the moisture it needs to help avoid wrinkles longer.
