Today’s New Habit Challenge Tip is…
Success Left Clues. Throughout any process of change it is critical to notice and acknowledge what has worked. On a daily basis you are performing a new habit and there are a few tips from this challenge and some tips you have developed along the way that have made this process work for you. Today play the role of detective and follow the clues to the tips that lead to your success.
Tony Robbins says something similar to this often, success leaves clues. When you study successful people you learn success patterns and behaviors. Sometimes those patterns and behaviors are things you can apply to your own life and sometimes they are not. An even better way to study success patterns is to learn from yourself.
Over the last 25 days or so you have had much success developing your new habit. You have discovered things that work for you and you have discarded things that have not worked for you. It is always important to take a look back and note what has worked. In Project Management this is similar to noting lessons learned. At the end of the project I note what I learned about the project, the company, and the people I worked with. We can do this same here. What have we learned so far about this new habit? What have we learned so far about ourselves? What have we learned about the tips and help we received along the way?
Besides looking back, let’s also do a gut check for today. How are you feeling today? What feels good to you today? What feels off to you today? Keep the focus on this new habit and the process of positive change. You will notice today that there are things that are really working for you. Note those things so you can continue with them.
Now with the information we have gathered let’s take a look into the future. There is another week left of this month, I will share a few more tips, we will celebrate our successes, and we will consider a new habit for next month. As you wrap up this month be sure to apply those clues to your success and finish the month strong. Also start to consider what you will create next month.
Next month the focus will be on Mindfulness and living with less stress and more of all the good life brings. It will be great prep for the holiday season and set us up to achieve great things in 2012. The habit series will continue so start to gently consider another new habit that will support you this holiday season.
