Operation Opportunity and the A – Z Blog Challenge: D is for DIARY, LUCK DIARY

Many of us have heard about how keeping a journal of all the things we are grateful for in life will help us live a life of more gratitude.  As we journal on gratitude we look for more things to be grateful for in our lives.  As we look for more gratitude in our lives we become more attuned to all the things, people, and events that bring us joy..  As we see the gratitude in our lives, we become more grateful and, most importantly, we live happier lives.

The luck diary (introduced to me by reading about Richard Wiseman’s research on luck) is a play on the gratitude journal.

The instructions are simple:  At the end of each day for 30 days write down the positive and lucky things that happened during your day.  Do not write down the unlucky or unfortunate parts of your day.

This creates and documents a series of positive events.

Dr. Wiseman says after keeping a luck diary for 30 days “it’s difficult for the participants not to be thinking about all the good things that are happening!”

Give this a try and see if by month’s end you feel like a luck magnet.
